I went painting on a Sunday with a few of my students, to Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland WA. It was a hot day that was barely mitigated by shade that we found along the creek.
People were out strolling in their madras board shorts and bikinis, towing fluffy dogs straining at the leash and children focused on their smartphones. Such are the attractions of nature. The bugs were, well... bugging, seemingly unaware that we are amidst the 6th Great Extinction.
