I've spent the past week in the Columbia Gorge, with my friend John Laney. We were in the Pacific Northwest Plein Air 2018 event at Maryhill Museum.
July 30 - August 3 we painted in the gorge, turned the work in to the museum for a month long show, then went to the reception on Saturday, August 5. I received a ribbon for "best sky" from juror Randall Sexton, a painter that I like and respect, so that was good. The opening was crowded, with people from Seattle, Portland, Yakima and elsewhere.
I would like to thank Pacific Northwest Plein Air and Maryhill Museum for hosting the event, Steve Grafe, his wonderful wife and the rest of the staff and volunteers at Maryhill Museum, John Laney and some great painters, etc.
The exhibition, Pacific Northwest Plein Air 2018, will be up through August 25, hours 10am to 5pm daily, Maryhill Museum, 35 Maryhill Museum Drive, Goldendale, WA 98620 | 509.773.3733.
