The 1990s, Early To Mid

Two different circumstances have recently brought me face to face with a number of paintings that I did in the early to mid 1990s. The first was the sale and delivery of a painting (Pilchuck River I) to a couple that have collected several of my paintings at a gallery that once represented me in Portland. The other circumstance was the swapping out of some old inventory for new at the Museum of Northwest Art and Culture (the MAC) Art Resource program, in Spokane WA.
It was fun to see these old works again. I did not have photographs of many of them, and a few I did not recall painting. Often I would be running against a deadline, either a show or a trip to Portland. In those days setting up to photograph was a cumbersome effort, not the digital breeze that it is today. I was often lucky to finish touching up the frames before delivery.
The paintings are a mix of subjects and locations that I was painting at the time; Bob Pepper's Farm, Washington Park Arboretum, Portland street scenes, and Pioneer Square in Seattle. There is a piece from the Nisqually Delta trail, simply called "Path".
